As far as Research and Development are concerned, the INPT strategy is based on partnerships of choice. The various research collaborations are of three types:

- Collaboration with clusters and associations

- Collaboration with educational institutions and research (Faculty of Sciences and Engineering Schools in Morocco, several research institutions in France and Spain, engineering schools in Tunis)

- Collaboration with companies, telecommunications operators and large entities (ENOVA company, Maroc telecom Operators, Meditel, Wana and group Thales Air Defense).

These partnerships have allowed the setting up of several large-scale research projects in the current themes (Mobile Radio Systems, Network Management, Multimedia Communication, the design of embedded circuit and Geographic Information Systems).

The INPT has developed a genuine network and a set of international partnerships dedicated to research through the research projects carried out abroad and the internships of end of studies accomplished by engineering and doctoral students. Here are some of the major partners:
